That looks horrible and I bet it was painful but it will actually be a lot easier than most hook removals. There plenty of room to get on it with a set of side cutters. One snip and then slide the piercing through. That's one heck of a lot easier than a buried barb. It penetrating all the way through was actually a good thing...as odd as that may sound.

We paddled the canoe to our hospital on the lake after my younger brother hooked my earlobe with a nasty pre-rigged worm. The ER nurse congratulated me as the first of the year.

He needs to get a big diamond stud to put in that hole when he gets that hook cut out.

I wonder if they pushed the barb up and backed it back through. I doubt many carry cutters that will easily cut a hook of any thickness.

After I tried cutting a hook that went in and out with the barb exposed the first thing I did was take a size 7 hook with me to make sure that I could easily cut it with little effort and invested in the best set of cutters I could find. If I fish out of someone else's boat I make sure I take them with me.

Been there..done that. Wore a 3/4 oz jig in my ear once for last 2 hours of a tournament. Had nothing in the boat we could cut the hook with. Let me tell ya.. That 3/4 oz...feels like about 20lbs after an hour.

Sorry John, this is my last underspin and it's what they are eating today. Can't cut the barb. This is going to suck for you.
