Man I remember standing on the dock fishing with a cane pole and worms until the fireflys and skeeters came out. Parents had already yelled at me to come back in 15 minutes before.

I grew up by a river so we fished every day we could. My 2 brothers and I sold
night crawlers to local Hardware store for 1 cent a piece just so we could buy
tackle. We would sell 10,000 at a time.

That’s the way it was for us. My Dad bought an old farm bell that he put up on a pole outside the house. When we were supposed to come home, he or Mom would ring that bell that could be heard all over the neighborhood.
