Fished Kerr this weekend Fri and ABA tourney on Sat..
Found fish shallow on Friday, would have weighed in about 10-12 pounds, shook off quite a few. Various docks were key, only caught fish on the ones off the water that you could get under. They were under the shallow end of the docks/walk ways. Also found them in the back of a few creeks on laydowns in 2 foot of water..Then comes Sat, drew a non boater, went to a shallow brush pile in about 3 foot of water to start, caught a dink and we both caught a fish over 14 out of 1 brush pile, so I thought my shallow pattern was golden. After going through the docks and nothing but a few dinks. I made my way to the back of a creek, but I could see the bottom Sat, so that told me they dropped the water over night yet again..I had 3 fish in the boat at about 1 pm, one over and 2 under. we made the move to some deeper coves across from Ivy Hill. The wind really started getting good. I made the decision pick up a SB caught a few small fish, but they weren't eating it, so I switched to a smaller profile bait. Chatterbait was the ticket, finished out a limit with it. I just couldn't cull my 2 smaller fish for 2 over 14. The ones over 14 were pretty solid fish. I weighed in 8 pounds and some change 2 more over 14 would have put me in the money. 14 pounds and some change won it caught out of a long run to Nutbush..The fish are scattered all over, some are still shallow, some on points and some in 15 ft of water..Hopefully it gets better by next weekend..I'll be there Fri - Sun.. Can't complain though. I weighed a limit in the first tournament after comming back from the sand box, and got some much needed points...
