Regular partner practicing for a local tournament , everyone else fishing the Chowan, I'm commited to Phelps Lake Sunday, leaving early 3:30-4:00am (two hour ride from my house in Va Beach)... back seat is open if anyone interested. Going big bass hunting...

Maybe I will.... I haven't caught enough short fish yet this year... good excuse to fish the Chowan for me... I can work on my short fish quota for 2007.... since thats all I can catch there...

Fish eating like crazy in the chowan, I dont understand the no fish thing, went Saturday caught a bunch of chunks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found em today. Had a wonderful time. Biggest 4#, several nice keepers and a ton of shorts.

busted his lip today looking out the window.
I decided to stay home and go through my tackle. Man do I have a bunch of stuff taking up space that I never use. After cleaning out the boat, my son and I went for a boat ride out at West Neck for a couple hours. I think I picked up a couple miles an hour with all the cleaning out.
Glad you guys caught them today.... saw where someone caught 30-40 fish in the 3RB tourney and only was able to weigh in one. A good day to catch some fish, but would have been the same result for me I'm sure... short fish.
O'm waiting on Robs report from Phelps. I know I'm gonna kick myself in the you know what for not going... where are ya Rob... how'd ya do? Rub it in my face...

Chip, just got back (2000). It was good but not "Phelps good". Had a limit of 3 lbers but no kickers. My favorite shore is the east side but couldnt fish it in the morning due to the wind. Ran to the west side and fished the pad fields. Caught a few there on trick worms. The wind laid down about 1100 and ran to the east shore. The fish were in inches of water and jumping on the trick worm fairly well. Really thought I would have caught or atleast seen a 6+ but no luck. The water was as murky as Ive ever seen it there. I talked to a Park Ranger and saiud theyve not had much rain but its been windy all year.
I think I could have caught better quality fish on the CHowan from waht I found last weekend there.
