Ok here is a report on the Potomac. Fished saturday from daylight until 4:00 we boated about 12 to 15 fish, several really nice fish. Water temp ranged from 50.5 all the way up to 60 degree back in Aquia creek. Best pattern was crawdad colored rattle trap type baits and Baby 1-'s on sand or gravel banks in about 1.5 feet of water in the backs of bays. The fish are starting to move up, I managed several nice fish, and lost a couple of giants!!! Which can be expected with traps!! Water is very stained on the main river and muddy in the backs of creeks. There is some new grass growing already, it is sparse but you can dig up some nice green milfoil in your in the right place. You had to really work an area over good, but if you kept covering water you could get some nice fish. Had several 3, and nice 4lber. Biggest one I lost partner said he got a very good look at her and said she would be somewhere around 6 or 7, hook popped at the boat!! Oh well! Next couple of weeks or warmer weather and the Potomac is going to be flat out on fire!!! Most fish hit within the first 5 feet of the bank!!
