What's the most notorious fish for biting you off?

Here in the north we have a few fish that will bite you off clean. Northern Pike, Muskie, and bowfin to name a few. It amazes me how well the northern pike blends in with its environment. I took this underwater footage below of a northern pike in 15' of water in some vegetation. The bluegill either had no idea it was there or didn't realize the possible danger they were in. They really do blend in well. I've had a few choice words after losing some of my favorite lures to these toothy critters.

Pike are my nemesis, lost many a spinnerbait, crankbait, tube, buzzbait, etc... to them when not using a steel leader. I found spiderwire fusion was great for throwing spinnerbaits in Northern waters, the pike didn't cut it clean, they would only cut a few strands so I could re-tie and keep fishing. But alas they stopped making it.

Pike, and it's always when you're fishing for something else so no leader.

Lots of pike here. And they really like jerkbaits , especially Megabass 110s.

The little pickerels (hammer handles) are the worst ... haven't lost too many baits to bigguns, the little ones spaz out when they get hooked and that often results in a breakoff.

    Pike and pickerel.

I love the feeling when you’re fishing a jig or swimbait and feel the bump of a fish, just to set the hook and feel nothing but air

Same here with our hammer handle pike. On LSC, it is common to get bit off by Muskies. So those are my 2 nemesis while bass fishing.
