    First Round in 3 Months

After damaging my arm in early August, finally felt good enough to play 18 yesterday. I did play 5 holes Monday and felt ok, so figured I’d give 18 a go with my regular Old Man’s group. Missed 2 fairways with the driver (took too aggressive a line on one, the other tried to ease a driver instead of hitting a hybrid), had a couple 3 putts early on, and missed a few wedges (skulled or short). With a little fine tuning will be OK I think. Amazing how quickly the short game goes away from ya.

I was at least smart enough to not swing too hard, if it was a 9 iron before I’d ease an 8, or maybe even a 7. Didn’t impact my game to much, normally I swing pretty aggressively but could get use to this easy swinging thing. Getting any backspin didn’t happen on short shots, but I’m ok with that.

Ortho appointment tomorrow to see what’s going on as I still have some pain, but nothing that some ice didn’t take care of last night.

Sounds like a good start with a great approach to the easy swing.
I am trying to make the easy swing my standard after pounding it for 55 years!!!!
You can hit it just as far when you flush it with the easy swing.

Got a shot in the elbow and a brace so thumb doesn’t move as much. Just rest, but no real restrictions. Hand specialist appt in a month. Going to play once a week until then at most. Sounds like the tendon may be out of the channel or the channel is damaged, if so surgery.

You might try accupuncture in the meantime. My wife did for her left thumb joint and 3 treatments no pain and back to golf. I am still going once every two weeks for my hands and feet. I think it helps but not like it did for my wife!
