    Orochi X10 Medusa

Wondering if anyone has some real time experience on the water with this rod and how it might compare to other “Strolling” rods? When it first came out I thought it mostly for lighter lure weights, which I mostly use. However, I see it’s rated up to 1/2 oz so I assume it could handle heavier presentations as well.

I was wondering the same thing. I have several X10’s and really like them.

The one criticism I have heard on the X10’s is that the blank is thicker. How does it fish for you?

The Megabass X10 Medusa is a fantastic strolling rod. The solid tip is very light and responsive to shaking baits. It's also an excellent vertical drop shot rod. Even with the 1/2 oz total weight upper range, it does a much better job with 1/8 to 1/4 oz jig heads. I'd much prefer something else using 3/8 or 1/2 oz jig heads + plastic. The Megabass P5 Kirisame Kameyama Special is a hidden gem of a rod for heaver strolling applications.

The jade python fishes slightly heavier then I thought it might and the Jabboerwok really loads up nice.

I’ve got about a year of use on my Medusa, I wouldn’t drop shot with it at all. Its action is unlike any other rod I’ve ever used. I’d go with another Addermine or a Landsat for drop shotting. It is very fast and has a solid carbon stinger tip, it really is the best strolling rod I’ve ever used so far.
