    Skeeter Zxr20 prop / numbers

I own a 2021 Skeeter Zxr20 with 250 SHO. Since I bought the boat new, I’ve had issues hitting optimum rpm with the stock 25t2 prop.

Mine would only hit around 5600, empty with less than 1/4 tank of gas by myself, (summer time). At this rpm it rarely gets close to 70mph. With tournament load, live wells, 1/2 tank of gas and a partner, it will only turn around 5400 rpm and tops out around 68. Running 3 lithiums for trolling and 2 old style cranking batteries.

I have used a 24P tempest plus and had great results. Around 5900-6000 RPM and 70-73mph depending on load.

I was wondering if anyone is running a 24p T2 prop on these boats and had any success.

I have a 12” atlas hydraulic jack plate and spacers that came on the boat when bought new. Tried running it at all different heights with the 25p T2, no help..

What numbers are ya’ll seeing with this setup? RPM? Speed? Is my boat hull just a lemon?

    I'm running a 24 T2 prop on my ZXR20. I get 6000 rpm or a little better. Top speed 71.

Do you know your prop to pad measurement?

I wouldn’t call 70-73 a lemon. Sounds like you found a prop that works for you.

I have the same boat. Haven’t tried a 24 pitch prop. I have the fixed jackplate and 4 flooded cell batteries. I’m also seeing 70-73 with the 25 pitch T-2 it came with. I only have the analog tach which shows 5800-6000 at WOT at sea level.

If you are getting 70+ be happy. That is what that boat is supposed to run, 70-73 MAX with a 250 SHO. I have never heard anyone beat 73.

I guess I should clarify a little. The boat would run 70-73 sometimes with only me and an empty livewell. I am happy with the performance out of my boat with the tempest prop. I was just kind of wondering why my boat won’t turn a 25p t2 at more than 5600 rpm. My tempest does 67mph, live wells full, tournament load and partner, turning 5800-5900.

Your not telling us your prop to pad height.... Engine height is everything!

I have an 12” atlas hydraulic jack plate. I’ve tried many different heights. It seemed 10, (gauge reads 0-20) is 1-1-2” below pad. Also 15 looks like “0” or even with pad and “5” would be 3” below. I get good results at 9-10 with the tempest after planing out. Th T2 seemed like it wouldn’t gain rpm regardless of height. It would only reach around 5500 and stop climbing. It hasn’t been worked at all. I’m thinking about sending it off though.

I have owned 6 ZXR/FXR 20 now, and all with stock prop 25-t2 and Atlas jack plate. All have run 72-73 at 6k RPMs with 2 people and tournament gear. 75-76 and 6150 to bumping the rev limiter by myself, with either lithium, or AGM batteries. Hydraulic plate 15-17, manual plate 7-9 dots. If the boat has the 2 " spacers trim at 95%, without 85-90%. Most of the ones that I have helped set up have had similar results. There maybe a few other things going on, but it sounds most are running their prop to low, or not getting full throttle do to improper hot foot set up or stop screw vibrating loose. If the boat is a few years old, then maybe time for new plugs.
