    New Boat Cover Suggestions

I currently have a "universal fit" cover on my ole Skeeter and it has seen better days.
I'm currently looking for a more custom fit/trailerable cover for my ZX176c.
Does anyone have any experience with Aurora Canvas or Westland custom/exact fit covers? Any pros/cons for going with the Sharkskin Supreme vs Sunbrella material?

I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions on other cover companies.

I had a bad experience with coveranything.com. They may sell Westland.

    John,

Was the experience with the vendor, the material or both?

Aurora stuff is good. I have had a couple of them. You do get what you pay for with a cover.
A fitted, towable cover will be at least $750 for your size boat.

    I second that.

Just got a new cover for my 97 Champion from these guys. Had my exact model listed and the cover fits great. Should be able to find what you're looking for.

Which version did you get? Looks like quality? Any coupon codes?

I'm in the same boat, looking to upgrade my cover for my ZX176c. I've been eyeing both Aurora Canvas and Westland covers. From what I've gathered, Sunbrella is great for durability and fade resistance, while Sharkskin Supreme might offer better water resistance. I'm leaning towards Sunbrella for its reputation, but I'm curious about others' experiences too. Any advice on these or other cover brands would be awesome!

Aurora make very good covers. I had three of them on my Bass Cats, exact fit from the factory, and I was quite happy with the fit and quality. On my last Cat, my dealer had his canvas maker custom make a cover. The fit was better, and the price was reasonable. I believe that there is something to be said for a canvas maker having the boat in their shop and making sure the fit is precise, especially with all of the different options in trolling motors, graphs, etc. on todays rigs.

Do a search in this thread and you will find a ton of info. I bought mine from boatcoversdirect.com and everyone that saw mine right after I bought it loved it. I have bought 2 from them and do not regret it. Great customer service and fast shipping.

Do those in house makers cost more than these off the websites?

Aurora Canvas is ending operation this month. After approximately 50 years Del is closing the facility and has notified us he is retiring.
