    Headed to Falcon

Well I'm headed to falcon Jan 24-29. Any info would be great.

I'll be in a maron Champion 202 with a 250xb on her, with AR tags.
Getting all my gear rigged up with heavy line, 20-25 fluorocarbon, 15 for cranking, and braid for flipping.

Any spawning? or is it still pre spawn?

If any of y'all See me, please stop by and say high.
Always nice to meet fellow BBCer's.

    Thanks Collin Cheatham

Stop in at Falcon Lake Tackle and those guys will tell you what stage the fish are in. Supposed to be about 85 degrees there this weekend, that ought to get them moving.

    Re: Headed to Falcon (Charlie206)

I am going in feb. from what I have been told 20 min. on the cranks, and 25 min. on everything else. I know that that sounds crazy, but everyone tells the same story. The guide that I am going with my first day said, "If you are going to come with 20 fluoro. just stay in arkansas, you will get your heart broke!"

    Re: Headed to Falcon (BigTone,Ar.)

20 is not enough, there's too much brush underwater and the fish should be going shallow about now. Heavy braid with a 25 flouro leader is a good suggestion, and the leader can cost you. Last year at this time I watched one around 12 bust the 25 flouro on a brush top, about 5' from the boat. If you are in open water use anything, but the brush is nasty.

I caught this fish Tuesday on Falcon on 17lb Berkly Vanish, 12lbs even.
The water was cooler on Tue. at 58 so the big fish were slower but Fri. it was 66 and they were much more active. We fished cranks from 0-8ft. Make sure you have extra strong hooks because you will lose a fish fast if you don't and re-tie often, I re-spooled twice.
My friend took his dad yesterday. and caught 90 fish to 8lbs.

I had Walls coveralls under the 100MPH suit in the morning then nothing but shorts in the afternoon two days of the trip.
