My son Alec tried out and made the 12U Elite Baseball team in the area. We got the call last night and he came running outside with the phone all excited. I guess all those days of "daddy, let's play catch" are paying off. About 45 kids from the Golden Triangle area tried out for the team. I"m a proud Dad today for sure!!!

You have a good reason to be a proud dad. Sounds as if you have done a fine job with him. Congrats to your son. What is him name?
His name is Alec, and yes, I had a fewto celebrate....Kid was born with a glove in his hand. He is a left handed pitcher and 1st baseman. Now, if I can get him as interested in fishing as he is in sports, it will be all good. But, I guess for now, I will take "just baseball"....lol

There are a few kids from Bridge City and Orangefield that made the team also. There is some real good talent in the area for sure!! Their coaches are current/former Lamar Univ players. Should be good experience...
