Anyone have any experience with New! Bass Pro Shops AM24 Auto/Manual Inflatable PFD

Looks like they are on sale atm and I’ve always wanted an auto/manual Inflateable PFD. Any one have any experience with the BPS vest?

looks like it gets more good than bad reviews but the bad ones are concerning.

Got 2....one for me and one for the wife. Never had a problem. Summer time before the expiration date goes out, jump in the water to test it out. Never had a failure, but it will make you crap your pants when it goes off.

I like mine. I've never tested it so I can't speak to its reliability. I had my CO2 cartridge fall out after a few years, so make sure you check it on occasion.

I had a basspro one. It was laying on the seat and a co-angler stepped on the buckle. Made it useless, so I threw it in the water to see if it worked. Blew up as advertised.

I ended up grabbing this one for just over $67 shipped OTD.

I wanted to get 2 of these in the link below that are on sale for $119.97 then apply $20 off for a credit approval but they did not have blue and I don't want 2 times the black ones. I mean the price is right but the color is not.

I bought two of them around Christmas. I used the manual tube to blow it up and left it inflated for 2 days and it never deflated. As long as the water soluble pill works like it should be fine.
It seems to be made out of quality materials.

Roger that, yeah I read the reviews where they inflated on the way to the lake in dry lockers. My guess is humidity brakes down the capsule that makes the Co2 explode.

Never had one inflate in the rod locker, but did have on inflate sitting on a seat in direct sunlight on a 98* day

I have four, two that are 6 years old and two that are 1 year old. Have never once had them go off in boat storage or when wearing them in the rain. As wearing them in the rain, they have a velcro attached cover, which sheds water from entering the bobbin compartment. The 2 older units I've replaced the co2 cartridges and bobbins. The grandson and I tried them out with the old cartridges and bobbins by jumping into the five foot end of the swimming pool. Both went off about the time our feet hit the bottom. I was quite impressed. I do check them routinely and blow them up once a year to check for air leakage. If I'm traveling long distance at a high rate of speed, I'll put on my padded vest. Just believe in an incident that padded vest may give the body some extra protection. Especially, if you were tossed into something like the windshield.

Ditto. I forgot I left mine in a storage compartment when the boat sat outside for a week with the boat cover on it. The humidity inside was enough to trigger it.

I would give a -10 star if I could because I would have been dead. I was going to replace the CO2 tank, so I deployed the AM24 life jacket by pulling the manual deploy string. Only the right side of the life jacket inflated. The CO2 tank was not strong enough to inflate and deploy the other side and behind the neck area. I had to rip apart the velcro before those two areas would inflate. This is very concerning in a real life situation where someone would to fall into the water. This same issue not only happened once, but also on the second AM24 life jacket that I was replacing too.

I bought 2 of them last year. One of them kept blowing up randomly even after going back to the company. Got curious and tried the other one in water and it didn't work in water or pulling the manual cord. Threw them in garbage and replaced with quality foam life jacket that will work every time guaranteed.
