Loomis IMX Pro or the GCX crank bait rods

Anyone using either the Loomis IMX Pro crank bait or the GCX crank bait rods, do you feel the IMX is or would be worth the $120.00 upgrade? I'm trying to talk myself into it one minute and out of it the next
I know I probably don't need to have the best for moving baits but if it's lighter and more balanced/sensitive will it make my day on the water that much better if they're eating square bills?

I have 2 of the imx pro 845cbr rods. I can’t say enough about them. They are perfect for all treble hook baits. Very light, sensitive with the perfect action. If you have the extra money I would get the imx pro. The gcx is not near as light as the imx pro.

Thanks. I was considering the 843cbr. How does the 845 handle square bills in the 1.5 range? The 845 would be a good choice in that it could throw traps as well as long as it doesn't struggle with smaller cranks.

It would do great with a 1.5. I use a dt6 all the times and they are the same weight. I have used down to a 7 Shad rap with no issues although that is the lightest I would go. 845 is super versatile.

I personally don’t think the GCX is worth the money. Decent rods but better options out there for the same or less price. IMX is about where the Loomis brand starts to shine.

Like you said, it’s for moving baits so you don’t necessarily need an expensive rod which saves money and you could use it to buy a new reel as well. If it was for anything other than crankbaits I’d say 100% yes, go with the IMX

I have always liked the 845 cbr they are very versatile. I have never liked the 843. For smaller crank baits I prefer the 842. All that said, I am just a hack.
