    Detune a pro xs 250 down to 225hp ?

Like it says can a pro xs 250 be detuned down to about the same hp as a 225 prosx ?
I was curious about this , I can get a great deal on a 250 porsx but my boat is only rated for a 225 .
Could this would be a easy as just reflashing the computer ?

No sir... the block (sleeves) and cylinder heads are also different, and the days of "reflashing" are past.

Additionally, the serial number will always be a 250.

Yes, but in case of accident the sn will still show a 250. And we all know that any ambulance chaser would love to take a case like this even if not at fault.
