    Advice on units to purchase

I'm new to the fishing world and I am about to buy a Ranger rt188 that has a couple of old units. I will be fishing on Lake Hartwell since it is just a few miles from me.

I have decided that Garmin is the way to go for me. I believe that a 93sv at the console will serve me well, but I am not sure what I should get up front at the trolling motor.
    Another 93sv or 73sv?
Does it have to be an ECHOMap unit if I want to network it to my 93sv? Or can it be a cheaper unit that can display the screen from the 93sv?

Just want to make sure I'm not throwing money away for nothing here.

    Thanks everyone!

IMO, 9" unit would be the smallest to get......if you plan on or want to network, yes, the other unit must be another Echomap unit with includes the Ultra units. Of course if you are on a budget, then get the unit that will make you happy and fit the wallet. There should be some good deals on used units.....someone was selling their 93 UHD's for around $550, if you could get two that $1K and still good units. There may still be brand new around $699 if you can find them.

The GPS Store has these for $649. For the bow unit, I don't need a transom month transducer though. So what do I need for that? Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 93sv Touch-Screen Fish Finder/Chartplotter Combo with Garmin Navionics+ Mapping and GT54 Transducer

EDIT: I see Garmin sells a month for trolling motors

Yes, the units will come with TM mounts for ducers. Now for your transom ducer, that can be tricky if you want a reading while on plane. The GT54 can be mounted but it need to be at bottom of pad so it can keep in contact with water to give a reading.....

Thank you for your responses. I'm in the learning phase of all this and it can sometimes be information overload and I stop comprehending at some point. I'm kinda technical at times, but extremely good at mechanical work etc so install will/should be the easy part for me.
Just making sure I'm not going overboard for a novice that wants to fish bass and crappie.
