    SSR hub or Solid hub for Tourquemaster

    2023 Pro XS SN:3B394985

    So I drop by my prop shop to purchase the SSR hub for my spare prop. The Prop guy stated that the SSR has a bulletin out and Mercury now recommend the solid hubs. I asked to see the bulletin and was advised it was dealer only. I assumed he was telling the truth as I was prepared to buy the SSR hub and did not need a solid hub as I already have one. During the search as recent as September the SSR seemed to be the goto hub.

    There are service bulletins but not indicating to "not run SSR hub kits on V8 Fourstroke models".

    I would use the HD Racing (solid) until I had my favorite prop selected and then install the SSR into that prop.

    Kind of strange - my local mercury dealer ordered me the older style hub with the new nut locking system.. Mechanic said that it might be a little louder, but it is better. That was the first time I had heard anything regarding new vs old style.

    They improved the solid hub casting as it's now has some of the more critical dimensions machined (in addition to the double-nut kit).
