Shaft lenght ?

I have a '94 200 Vindicator on a 21'5" Ranger bass boat, obviously it is a little underpowered. It works not as well as i would like it to.

I would like to repower & I seem to see more reasonable prices on 25" lenghts engines than I do 20" lenghts. I understand the 25" would throw the geometry off on my which is designed for 20".

My question is - will the Drive shaft ,Midsection & LU on my Vindicator fit on a later model Ficht or etec 225 or 250?

If you can find a 225 in the same model year class why not just swap power heads?

I am sure I could but I would like to have a EFI or DFI engine - I checked into adding a MAD EFI to the existing engine. From what I can gather the engine would pretty much be a grenade with the pin pulled, which is not what I really need for Weekend T fishing.

first off your 200 really is a 225 if you use midboar carbs or carbs from a 225 and a simple head change to bump up compression 2 stroke only is a good website for your ans and a great guy he usually has this stuff on hand with plenty of how to as this 200/225 big boar looper is all he works on! good luck murf!
