Different emergency alert post

There are warnings going around Facebook about the emergency alert. If you know someone who's in a domestic violence situation and they have a second phone that they leave on silent or whatever because they are hiding it from their abuser, please notify them to turn the phone completely off so it does not make a noise today.

Thats my understanding, Big GOVERNMENT wants a way to reach you even if you have opted out of all alerts. For now it's only for true emergency's. I am sure it's being done under the if it saves one life or one child it's worth it guise.

I have seen this exact advice given multiple times during the last several days. I can't help but question why on earth anyone would stay in an abusive relationship so bad that they need a secret phone for backup.

It has been around for more than a decade and testing began 5 years ago and is required every 3 years. The sky isn't falling. If it was, then the emergency alert system would tell you hahaha.
