    Garmin Netgear Networking

So, i have a Garmin GPSmap 942xs in the console of my boat. i have a Garmin Echomap 93sv on the bow of my boat that I bought (and have used for 2yrs now) with Live Scope.

I see a lot of people online using a $20 netgear ethernet switch from Walmart to network there units.

However, when i try this, I get a Error Message-(Remove unsupported devices from the panoptix port. Any engaged autopilots have been placed in the standby mode.) This message only shows up on the 93sv.

If I run the GL10 box through the netgear box to only the 942xs it works. If I run the GL10 box through the netgear box to only the 93sv it works. It is not until I plug them into the netgear box at the same time that I get the error message. And, the message always appears on the 93sv.

I have confirmed compatibility (and again, with either one running through the the netgear box without the other one hooked up, panoptix works on that unit.

I updated the 93sv and the 942xs shows the most up to date software.

I know the biggest suggestion here is going to be the netgear box is the problem, and that may be, but I though I'd see if anyone had any other suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

What I know is GPSMap and Echomap are not compatible. It may not be your switch at all, just those devices not compatible for sharing. The GL works with either but maybe not when 2 incompatible units are on the same network.

That's it. The incompatiility if echomap and GPSMAP on the same network is not a maybe.

I've been running three 93SV UHD on a $10 network switch for a year, with DIY cabling - with no issues.
