Ranger Z520C Pedestal Seat Base Replacement

I am just wondering what is involved with removing the old plastic insert, and replacing with a new one?

I have a padded front deck and need to replace one of the inserts. Do I need to cut a couple slits and pull back the carpet to remove the old and get a new one in there?

I bought the replacement plastic insert, and before installing noticed it does not fit the seat post as tight as the original. Is this normal for the replacement to have more play?

I don’t believe the replacement insert helped the play in my seat at all. It isn’t worse, but it’s not better either. I held off on doing the other ones with the lack of improvement.

I have the Bob’s Machine Shop plug inserts to keep water out of the holes when there is no seat mounted, and with original inserts on the boat they fit super snug…with the new base insert they just drop in. Kinda frustrating.
