    Peoples Choice Awards

I know many of you aren't into the country music awards, neither am I. But I did happen to watch the first annual Peoples Country Choice awards the other night and actually enjoyed it. Most of it. Toby Keith accepted the first ever Country Icon award and gave a very moving acceptance speech "God has been riding shotgun with him" and a very touching performance. I pray that he continues to heal. He truly is an icon

It is sad to see how that disease changed him and took away something from his life he loves.
One of my favorite patriotic country singers ever.
I saw him several times in concert.
Hope and pray he makes a recovery.

My wife and I went to see him in concert years ago in Indianapolis. My wifes grandma loved Toby and had bought tickets for herself and us to go see him. She died before he came...
So in her honor we went and tried to unwind from all that.
He was drunk and slurred thru most of the songs and was off all night. In a patriotic theme he called out to salute all the military guys in the crowd and referred to them as "all ya'll MFers..." We left very disappointed... I have never been able to appreciate him since that night... I loved his early music before he got overly famous and started the Red Solo Cup bs...
I hope he gets well reguarless. Cancer sucks
