    1985 Champion Super V

Does anyone know if a wiring harness can be bought for a 1985 Champion Super V. It has a 150HP MerCruiser on it. I realize it's 35 years old but maybe someone has an after market. I just bought this boat about 2 years ago and have been slowly fixing it up. I live in Mexico about 2 weeks out of each month in Mexico on a lake and one of my local mechanics asked me to check. He said he can build me one out of scratch but it would be easier if I could find one. If nothing else does anyone have the wiring diagram on the wiring? Thanks, there are so many wires hanging that it would be easier to just start from scratch. I've already replaced the floating insulation and new decking on this thing and many other little things I would be fun to get a new wiring harness for it. Thanks in advance for any information. Gary

Gary, the wiring harness is inside the hull and pretty safe from anything other than rodents. The console plugs into the wiring harness as do the bow panel(s). So I would highly recommend not trying to replace it unless it's known without a doubt to be damaged. If there is any chance at all of there being a NOS harness out there, C&O Marine in TN will have it. They bought all the NOS when the Mountain Home factory was closed after the Genmar acquisition. That was in 2001, so you're talking about 16yrs after your boat was built. I'm thinking chances are pretty slim, but worth a check. I can provide you soft copies of schematics that will possibly match your boat, but need an email address. Is your mechanic in AZ or MX?

I'll try to remember to email them this afternoon when I get home.
