    Killer Otters!

Three Women floating down a River in Montana on Innertubes were attacked by a Otter. One Woman had to be airlifted. They said it was unprovoked. Crazy!

We have Otters on our River and they occasionally leave surprises on my dock…crap and Crawdad claws. They never have bothered us while on the dock and are fun to watch. Never tried to feed them any of the fish I catch and I don’t think I will after reading about the attack. We usually see them in the Mornings and Evening’s in groups of 3 or 4 and they are fun to watch. I think I’ll be bringing my Walther with me from now on while on the dock.

My cousin had one charge him a few weeks ago. He saw something up by our cabin at the lake and thought it was a dog from a distance. He then made eye contact and it ran about 20 yards at him toward the lake, my cousin hit it with a clothes basket he was carrying. This sucker was about 40 pounds he spun around looked at my cousin and ran into the water.
I don't always post or reply but when I do, I...?

I’ve had one come near my boat and was clearly aggressive. Being on a floating tube would be scary for sure.

I think I said something on here one time about seeing some on a pit I was fishing before, and how I was worried. I wouldn’t want something like that biting on me!

The big lakes in this area all have them. So far, none have ever come after me.

I hate otters, they have ruined more than one of my favorite farm ponds. I have called the game warden on more than one occasion to ask if I could legally “remedy” the issue

A few years ago I was fishing along back in a cove. Saw a small bass jump out of the water about 20 ft from me. With an Otter right on his tail. A short time later saw otter on back in cove munching down on a bass.

Cute- sure....but nasty animals. One of the few that kill for the joy of killing.

You need to be less scared of the otter than it is of you to keep them at bay. Or else they’re gonna mess with you.

They are in the mustelidae family and most of those mammals in that family that are not to be messed with.
