    ghost problem

    I have a brand new ghost trolling motor that since day one has a terrible loud bam , bam, bam .bam , bam noise every time I want to back up a bit , not a tick but a loud ass bam bam bam noise like its chopping down a tree, no it doesn't have a piece of wood on the prop, it does this all the time every time any ideas.....thank in advance

    Sounds like your against the stop on the slip gear. Does it make the noise if you turn opposite direction to achieve reverse ?

    either direction . makes no difference, never had a trolling motor do anything remotely like this, not a fan of electronic pedal controls, I would take my old foretrex over this any day, I'm wondering if a software update would help

    First time I ever heard of that from a ghost. Never had a single issue with mine. It’s been an awesome trolling motor for me.

    I myself am having this same issue but mine also does one more thing. Along with making that noise when it does this it also stays running at a low speed even with my foot off the pedal.

    Make sure the head is seated properly. Mine was not out of the box. I slight turn and it seated itself nicely. That corrected problems I was having.
