Talked to a Marine mechanic today that works for a Marine Dealership, I'm looking at a 98 Bass Boat with a 98 Evinrude carburetor 225hp.The mechanic said that the Engine is in excellent shape with 90lbs compression on all 6 Cylinders, I questioned the Low compression # and he said quote "this is a big bore motor and the compression #s are not high like a regular bore outboard with 110 to 130 compression #'s". Question . Is this true about a Big bore outboard? And if so are the compression#'s of 90 Lb good? I've never heard this ever mentioned before. So I thought I'd reach out to the Bassboatcentral community. Thanks.
