    touch panel problem

I have a 2005 ZX225. When I put the boat away for the winter everything worked just fine. Yesterday I took it to the ramp to get ready for the season. Push button won't power on. Is there a fuse somewhere I can look for or something else? I'm afraid I may be looking at the dreaded panel change out to the rocker switches. ( Luckily I have one of those already in my garage) I have searched for posts on here about it, but cant find too much on the topic. Thanks for the help.

should be a main power fuse in the back, i would assume the fuse holder is corroded, happened to me, change that fuse holder and hopefully will solve your problem

Agree there are a couple inline fuses at the battery

Might think about installing that rocker switch panel while you have the time

if it hasn't gone south you know it will at the most inopportune time

I absolutely do not want to hijack your thread. But would you mind me asking where you got the newer panel? I could probably find it with some searching, but if there is a particular vendor I should probably think about having one at the house too.

I honestly don't remember for sure. It was either on here or off of a Facebook page. I was reading all the posts about them going bad so I bought one to have at my house for when mine went out. Hope you find one. I have been reading a bit about what it will take to replace it. Seems like people are able ro build ther own rocker panels at home any more.

I realize this is a pretty old thread but I'm having a similar problem on my 2009 20i Skeeter. I checked all fuses, etc., etc. I'm sure I have power. I ran into a thread here that talked about a 3rd party vendor "Blink Marine" that was producing some components specifically for Skeeter. I talked to a technician there (Art), he was very knowledgeable and suggested I check the master "brain box" under the rear corner panel for cracks that would allow water to get in. I need to mention that my power problem started when the boat got caught unprotected in a 4- or 5-inch deluge, so water intrusion was in the back of my mind already. I did find several cracks in that box, so I ordered a replacement "brain box" from them. It's a simple swap out (plug and play). Well, it came in yesterday but sadly this didn't resolve my problem. It sounds like I'm going to end up looking for a rocker switch panel (or two?) myself. My main question is whether the replacement rocker panel is "plug and play" or does it require splicing wires?

If you take the driver side back panel off the half round one there should be a main fuse in that area.

When my 2002 started acting up (would not always power on) I found that pulling the power fuse or disconnecting battery for a minute and then trying it would turn on. That was a pain in the butt, so instead, I put a cheap on/off switch in the power wire going to the key pad and then turning it off when I wasn't using the boat. That worked for two years. If you want to try that, there should be 4 wires coming off the panel. The red one is power. But try pulling the fuse or disconnecting battery first to see if it's the same solution. Good luck

there is a kit to change the zx boats over to rocker switches the kit works from 02 to 06 the newer models take less pieces i have been selling them for years not hard to change out the i class has a rocker switch changeover too or blink marine has some of the components have used them too they are a good company to work with. disconnecting the battery an let it set for a while will work sometimes but as it starts to do this it will completely fail.

    Thanks for the replies, guys.

So Randy, I have pulled that panel to expose the Brainbox. That fuse supplying power to the brainbox is accessible from the bilge which I am using like a switch (as Bob later suggested) to power the brainbox up and down. The only other wiring in that location is the "bundle" of wires feeding off toward the driver console. Again, I had some cracks in the brainbox, thinking that was my problem I replaced it with a new one from Blink, didn't help. I'm inclined to rule out any broken wires because when I power up the BB all the lights flash for a second on the driver panels. I'm going to call Blink again today and see if they have any ideas.

Bob, Thanks for the input. As I mentioned above, the fuse supplying power to the BB is what I have been using, sort off like a switch. If re-booting by taking the power off for a while was helping I would no doubt, consider a switch.

Thanks again for the suggestion's guys, I'm between a rock and a hard place on this problem. It's a poison pill trying to sell that boat. Still looking..

Steve, you posted while I was typing a reply, sorry.

A couple of questions for you. Does the rocker switch swap out still use the brainbox? Also does it use the same harnesses?

    Thanks for the input.
