Congratulations to the River city Bass Club out of Austin for winning the state championship this past weekend on Sam Rayburn.
It was a very tough bite. We just could not catch them. We were third(Second loser), but they did a great job.

Wish they had everything on the website by now. I want to ask if you got the Hag's Tornado worms that we sent out there for all the fishermen to get in a goody bag.

Know one of the River City members, he is a fishing machine.

Tommy, there were no Tornado's in our club's goody bags. Maybe some of the other's got them!
We sent enough worms for over 250 teams to get some....... that's interesting! Thanks for letting me know.

There were none in my bag either. None in the rest of our bags either. Someone won't have to buy any for a while.
Lonnie Stanley was at registration and the Saturday night banquet. He passed out a lot of stuff.
Lonnie and several others received lifetime awards(I think that is right), but not sure exactly what it was for. I'm ashamed that I don't have the correct information to give everyone.
I just got off the phone with the people that distributed the lures and he guaranteed me they passed them out. Someone must have got to mine before I received my bag.

I apologize for seemingly hijacking the topic page. It was meant to congradulate a very deserving team of their accomplishment. So,,,, congrats to all those that finished in the top.
I fished it for many years and only had one State Championship title. There are some salty fishermen in the TABC. I was a director of it back in '92 and '93 back when we were fighting the grass carp issue and it almost made TABC go away. I still have one of the collector belt buckles we made to help raise money to fight the grass carp. It's really a classy operation and has some super nice board members. That's why I said yes when they asked me to help out.
