    Will this adapter cable work? 360 MEGA/US2/Helix 12 G4N

Hi! I'm upgrading my 360 TM to a Mega 360 NM, and replacing my bow-mounted 1199 with a Helix 12 g4n CHO. I am only going to use 2d Universal Sonar 2 from my TM and a MEGA 360 transducers. Other incoming sources will be networked. Will this adapter (MEGA 360 & 2D/MDI Y cable) work for this? https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.c...-2dmdi-y-cable. Thanks.

There is no setting for the US2 with the MEGA 360. All combos are HW with MEGA 360.

Bumping. Didn't really get a clear answer on this one.

    Hi Wayne,

Could you elaborate on this? Is it possible to run Mega 360 and US2 to the same Helix G4N DI CHO unit? If not, could I wire the US2 directly to an ethernet hub with an adapter?

    Thanks

When the MEGA 360 is recognized by a Helix unit, all the Connected Transducer choices are deleted and a new set is added. All the new choices as a combo with MEGA 360 includes HW (HW CHIRP).
Default is the MEGA 360 by itself.
If you want 2D/DI/Temp connected to the same display, that requires the Y cable to connect both transducers to the display's Transducer Port.
The other Connected Transducer choices for an added transducer are:
    HW:MEGA 360
    HW:MDI+:MEGA 360
    Built-in HW:MDI+:MEGA 360
    Built-in HW:MSI+:MEGA 360

    A US2 transducer is 83/200 kHz 2D sonar.
A HW transducer is Low-Q CHIRP rated in the frequency spectrum of 140-240 kHz.

A US2 transducer cannot be connected to Ethernet, it is not an Ethernet accessory.

You can physically connect the US2 to the Helix via Y cable, but you won't have true CHIRP. The transducer compatibility chart shows if your unit is connected to a US2, the setting should be changed to match it. You cannot do that since there is no Connected Transducer choice for it with the MEGA 360.

If you want your stuff to function as designed get the complete unit with transducer (not CHO) and put the MDI+ transducer on the bottom of the motor.

Thanks for the clarification Wayne. I'm ok with 83/200 up front since I have HW with my other unit that is networked. I don't really have the option to mount a DI transducer on the bottom of my Terrova. I just wanted to be sure that Y-adapter listed would work with what I want to do. Thanks again yall.
