    Surge brake actuator replacement

I need to replace the old Atwood surge brake coupler on my trailer.
The trailer is single axle and has drum brakes.
I have access to a couple of "new old stock" surge couplers at bargain prices but they are for disk brakes.
Is there any reason I should not use a disk brake actuator on my drum brakes?

Disk brake actuators allow fluid to flow back because there are no springs to retract the calipers. Drum brake actuators hold a little pressure on the lines. You might experience delayed braking and rattling of the brake shoes using a disk brake actuator on drums.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.
