1998 175 Ficht

Hey Guys.


I need your help , I have a 1998 175 Johnson Ficht , Model #J175FTLECS, Serial #04504128.

Back in november 08 my #2 injector was leaking so I had my wrench replace all the O Rings and problem was fixed.

Then in january I decarbed and installed new plugs QL13PEP the same plugs I've always run. Well I ran the boat thise weekend an it was bogging down and missing under load.

So first thing I checked the plugs and #2 has oil residue but has not fired, Then I guess it's not getting spark, pull the plug wire and shocks the pee out of me. Cam roller is adjusted . the engine will tack up while in neutral but will only turn 2000 RPMS in gear. Compression is also good on #2.

When I got home I connnected it to puter but has no codes , then I did a static test on the injectors an they were all working.


Any suggestions?

Is it oil on the plug or gas?

You are running the wrong spark plugs. QL13PEP?

Its gettin oil but no gas. My wrench said it might be the fuel lift pump, I just don't understand why all the other cylinders are firing I.E. getting gas .


As I said there were no codes , starts fine ,no enternal mechanical failure. I did a static test on all the injectors and all the solenoids were working.

As for the plugs I wrote the wrong # DHOULD BE QC12PEP

I think the oil lift pump top pulse hose is connected to #2, pull it off and see if its wet inside.
