Should I get an additional battery to run my electronics?
Should I get an additional battery to run my electronics?
I recommend a lithium.
Nah.
Why is it dead? Age, not charging after a trip or keeping it charged, too much drain from accessories while fishing, bad charger??

What electronics are you running and what motor are you cranking? A lot of people on here are getting by with a group 31 agm for cranking and electronics but if running big screens and forward facing those can pull some major juice. If you're worried/having issues a separate battery for electronics would be a good thing to have.

Other than lithium, will likely hear recommendations for an X2 Grp 31.

I've been waiting to use this emojiX2/Odessey, DeKa, or add a 16volt Impulse.
NO
On cranking batteries three things matter, the MCA and the RC (Reserve Capacity), and then simply get the heaviest is important. Most have lower RC ratings as everyone puts emphasis on cranking amps, and this is why cranking batteries give you troubles. We just use the cranking battery differently than people think.
