Is the perspective mount worth buying?

I’m looking into buying the perspective mount and I am wondering if it is worth buying?

No. IMO Perspective is a gimmick to get more sales (and it did)

Perspective is absolutely not a gimmick..... its a tool and if it is used for the right purpose it can definitely help. Whether it helps you or not depends on how you are trying to use it.....

Perspective is the biggest reason I bought livescope and I'm happy with it.

That being said I'm not a huge fan of the garmin Perspective mount. I like the infinite adjustability of some of the aftermarket mounts better. It allows you to adjust the angle of the transducer...

I‘m fishing a lot of shallow water and using the perspective mode a lot…using a 3rd party mount from a German manufacturer though.

Even though perspective is 160 degrees (I think) it is much like 360 with one big exception you actually see fish moving a crossed the screen
You don’t have to wait for the next sweep of the transducer to show you how far you have drifted from the fish or piece of structure

The biggest thing I’ve found is fish don’t swim in a straight line
I have seen 4 fish moving in a pack and before I can cast they turn 30 degrees to the left you need this information if you want the best chance to catch one of them

You see a fish on 360 and you toss at it well by the time your bait gets there the fish has moved
With Livescope you see the tail kick and them head off in a certain direction as a certain speed you can anticipate where they are headed and put your bait in the best position for them to see it and react

Last but not least you can see how a fish reacts to your bait if it charges and stops or runs from it, helping you determine much faster if you need to change color, size or a new presentation

everything that makes forward facing sonar better than standard sonar relates to perspective
