Can someone tell me the difference? My Ranger 188vs is rated for 175hp and I see that there is not an 175HO. I am not sure how this unit will run on my boat. Thanks in advance.

There is a Mercury Pro XS 175, if you are looking for a hotter engine then a 150.
The 150HO comes with the lightning lower unit, and most of the testing I have read seems to indicate its worth about 2 mph over a regular 150. It is "factory tuned for high performance", which to me is an irritating way of not saying what it will really do.
I suspect it is probably pushing the high side of the 10% window over 150, so it probably makes close to 165hp. Plus you get cooler looking stickers on the cowl.
