Pickwick in Late November

Gents,

I am planning a trip to Pickwick during the first half of Thanksgiving week. I've found some cabins at a state park in MS....where I'll likely stay. I'd like to catch some smallies....never have.

Can some of you BBCer's give me some insight on what to expect and what patterns I should consider for the smallies in late-November? I'll be coming up from Baton Rouge and should have 3 days on the lake.

jigdandy,above natchez trace bridge,if weather stays warm,the fish will hold tight to deep points,this gives them a good route to dash shallow to chase baitfish or head deep if front moves in,crankbaits and spinnerbaits are key,crawfish or shad colored cranks,1/2 or 3/4 spinnerbait for deeper water,chart/white or white,jigs or spoons....the underwater island in the mouth of dry creek is good spot,buck island,underwater island at mouth of little bear creek is another,below natchez bridge,series of underwater islands on the north bank below panther creek,the rough bars on the south bank east of the mouth of bear creek,lots of bars and humps on the north bank streching from second creek to natchez bridge...hope this helps..good luck
