Update/Finalization on dates for the Potomac Get Together!

Okay fellas here are the updates for the get together. It will be on the 19, 20, and 21st of August. We are trying to get accommodations at Aquia Pines. We will keep you up to date with that.

We are not going to call it a "tournament"-- more of just a get together so people can meet and greet with other fellow bbcer's--and have a good time on the Potomac River. However if anyone wants to do a big fish pot, or hold something where some people want to throw some money in the hat we can go from there!

We just want to get as many potomac experts on the water at once, and I know there are some people who have been dying to try and get out here and fish it... so if we can get as many together as possible everyone will be able to learn and have a great time as well!

Put it in your calendars... August 19, 20, and 21st... --Potomac River Get together

I hope so see a lot of you guys there!!

Aquia Pines has 2 Rustic cabins available that sleep 2 adults and 2 kids. $56.00 per night. No AC and all that is there is a light and a bed.

There are also 2 luxury cabins available for $123.00 per night, has AC, cable kitchen etc.

The number is (540) 659 - 3447 and here is where they are:

3071 Jefferson Davis Highway
Stafford, VA 22554

Me thinks the luxury cabins will go fast!

I know there are some hotels right there as you get off the ramp in stafford. I want to say a holiday inn and some others. Are you and the mrs. looking to come? hope to see you guys there.

Greg, there are LOTS of motels off of 610. In addition there is the Days Inn (I think) on Route 1 close to 610 as well.

Want me to look into the motel situation for another common place?

Go to Hotels.com and search for Stafford, VA then pull up the map with the hotels on it. Start at Garrisonville (610) and Jefferson Davis HWY (HWY1) and look from around there south. We launch from http://www.hopespringsmarina.com and it's $20.00 to launch. Or north to Quantico and it's free over there. Carlos may be able to post a map to show the ramps on base. Just need your drivers license to get on post. Std hotel bass boat format. Remove all your stuff, ground floor room, cover on boat, baby monitor on boat dash.
Trust is a matter of how much security you have.

Ain't going to be much of a get together if people end up at different motels. If this is gonna fly, the locals need to find a reasonable, safe hotel for everyone to stay at.

Lot's of military and large DOD contractors offices here so depending on the number of rooms required it may be hard to get one hotel.

We live here so asking us about hotel accomodations is like asking the pope for a condom. He knows what it is but has never used one.

I would call these two and ask about boat parking and if it's a go I can run over and look at the lot.

Greg, also you can have fun hanging at the ramp, Mikes house and my house as well. Sleeping together in this area may just not quite pan out.
