    FLW on the Potomac

Anyone going out this coming week 6/2-6/5 while the FLW is in town?

Think I'm fishing Thursday & Friday and maybe keep an eye on them to see what they are doing ... weather looks great, maybe a bit warm

    Re: (Rough Stuff Rider)

Probably gonna stay off the river but we will see. I fished next to a ton of them this weekend in Mattawoman. We got there early and about 6 am it was like a hatch of wrapped trucks/boats. Kinda crazy. We saw one guy catch 4 or 5 keeper fish near us....the Berkley boat (unsure of who he was) by literally ripping a white buzzbait over the grass. Funny because I was throwing a buzz frog in the same general area and couldn't buy a bite on it. Pretty neat to see all of them going out.

Re: FLW on the Potomac (MdKamper)

Most of them have been keeping an eye on what the locals were doing the past two weeks. Fishing the "bent rod pattern" is standard practice for these folks here on the river, so in reality you would just be getting 3rd hand information. Just follow a local that knows what they are doing and save some gas!

There are a number of restaurants and smaller places to eat at the National Harbor right where the weigh-in is taking place.

Does it cost to park at National Harbor or is the Expo truly free?

Most of them must be staying north. Out from noon to 4 Thurs and only 2 boats down south.

they were mostly using gravely point to launch. It has to be the worst ramp on the river but its free. Just goes to show how cheap those guys actually are.

    Re: (Rough Stuff Rider)

That was actually one of the recommended ramps on the FLW website....plus Piscataway which has no parking and Marshall Hall. Seems like the logistics of having this at the National Harbor is not too great.

    Re: (smithic2034)

I launched and fished out of Piscataway this morning ... There were a bunch launching out of Ft Washington ... Scott Martin was there ...

Watching the weigh-in today live online ... coming in with some small light bags ... Yesterday's leader, Larry Nixon, only had one keeper today

The wind was up and the main river was muddy ... saw alot of the pros in Broad Creek fishing the mats

My son and I caught six in 4.5 hours this morning

Re: Top 20 after Day Two (MdKamper)

I fished Mattawoman for about 6 hours today and got 6. With the biggest being about 5lbs. I was right in the mix with those guys but caught more than most I could see around me. I wondered what was going on b/c I felt like was about the only boat that didnt have a vinyl wrap. I would have probably fished longer but my boat wouldnt run so I was right around the Ft. Smallwood ramp the whole day.

Re: FLW on the Potomac Final Standings

Chevy pro Luke Clausen of Otis Orchards, Wash., caught a five-bass limit weighing 19 pounds, 4 ounces Sunday to win $125,000 at the Walmart FLW Tour on the Potomac River presented by National Guard with a four-day catch of 20 bass weighing 69-14.
