Lvs 12 trouble with distance

I just got the lvs 12 a d a 106 ultra. Did all the upgrades but I'm having trouble seeing the bottom past 40-45 feet. I've tried changing a bunch of settings but nothing seems to help. Any recommendations or tips would be appreciated. Garmin hasn't been much help.

I'm using lvs12 since its release, and it works somewhat for about 25m (~ 80 feet) forward, although clarity decreases with distance. Downwards it works a little better, but i never used it that deep.
I noticed that the pictures are way better when the transducer is mounted via a separate pole in comparison to being mounted on the shaft of the trolling motor. Maybe you could try different positionings of the transducer. For better results over distance using time-variable-gain (TVG) should provide some improvements.
