    NOPE...NOT LAKE ERIE... MIGHTY SUSKY

Had a banner day on the Susky. Over 25 smallies about 6 in the 4+ range and many in the 2 - 3 # range. Also 2 Walleye and a hungeryt muskyt that demolished a Husky Jerk!! Not bad for the end of October and 68 degrees.

Now I am looking to get an aluminum boat w/ a short shaft Merc. I loved it!

    Thanks.... Guys.

But I am still looking forward to getting on Lake Erie when I can get out of Presque Isle Bay. I know there are some 6lb+ smallies with my name on them. PLUS I don't have to throw 1000 casts of jerkbaits for 7 hours. I can do my favotite technique of dropshotting.

Actually I am not sure Scotty. I know we were off the west side rt 92 at a state ramp. It was in Wyoming Co. I have never been there before. A friend took me. I do know I am looking for a Jon boat tho because there is no way I could get the Triton in that area.

YEAH, John... That day reminded me of Lake Erie, too with the wind.

I was out today on Fairview. "WHITE CAPS" were present there, too. I dunno what it is with the heavy winds lately.
    Today I got a 20" pickerel and this monster. I didn't know Fairview had any of these ? ? ? ? ?

Re: NOPE...NOT LAKE ERIE... MIGHTY SUSKY (Sinkobaits)

Nice fish Tim. The Susky is one hidden secrete. Your right - not too many places to put a bass boat. A friend of mine was wanting to trade his Ranger in on a jon boat with a jet motor. He said a friend of his has one and you can litterally run in 5 inches of water. He never did though. He thought those boats were way overpriced for what's on them - which is basically nothing - just the tin and motor.

I try to get out to the Susky at the Nescopeck bridge once a year. I catch some Hellgrimites, wade out to the islands, and then have a blast with the Smallies and Cat's. Once water levels drop far enough, they all sit on the edge of the deep channels inbetween the old bridge pillar islands that are out there. Cat's get pretty big, never had a big smallie there. But they are a blast to catch 25-30 in a couple hours though.

Re: NOPE...NOT LAKE ERIE... MIGHTY SUSKY (dlewis10)

Heading out again to the Susky on Monday. I am hoping the weather does us good. This will probably be my last trip there for the year. I am looking into getting a river Jon boat of my own for next year.
I like fishing the Susky....it is different than lake fishing for me. I am just glad to get on the water anytime. I am sure the rest of us are, too.
I'll keep Y'all posted how I do on Monday.

Re: NOPE...NOT LAKE ERIE... MIGHTY SUSKY (dartman)

Hit the Susky again on 11/2 High was only 39.
I did GREAT... 13 smallies 3 Walleye (2 will be for dinner tonight...just filleted them). No huge smallies and only one over 4#. most in the 2 - 3 range...ALL on my finesse jig & trailer except on walleye who hit a
X-rap Jerkbait. Cold or not.... IT WAS FUN!!!

YEAH Joe.... We ALL need to get out.... Hopefully next year we can get together more. I just bought a 16' Modified V jon boat for the river. I am looking now for a 15 HP, 4 stroke outboard. Also need a T/M but I think I will get a hand controlled bow mount. Not sure yet. This will be my winter project.....

SOOOOOO If Ya'll ever wanna come up and help with the boat, Pour some baits, too and go for wings and beer.... YEEEE~HAWWWW we can "GIT~R~DONE"
