Running a 2006 200hp ho which is causing rf interference that is affecting both sonar and gps units on the boat.
Plugs currently being used are the 9005 QC10WEP IRIDUIM plugs my dealer just upgraded me to. The last set of plugs [non Iridium] lasted about 150hrs. and the ones before got chewed after about 115hrs.
Is there a different plug or solution for me to use as to minimize this interference..?

Are you getting the interference with just the engine running are are you also getting it with the key on and engine off? I ask because I fought a similar problem last year dealing with a fm radio and a gps. Also have you added anything new to he electrical system?
Is this a repower of an older boat with original wiring and harnesses, or a brand new boat and motor rig?

It is a used boat that was repowered last fall using all new rigging, power cables, harnesses, key switch, binicle, guages, etc. Boat previously had a Yam on it so everything was yanked by the certified techs.
Interference is only when the engine is on and gets worse as the engine operates at faster speeds. Interferrence is both with sonar and gps units.
What brand electronics? Lowrance?
Humminbird in both 455 and 800khz frequencies. And a Tri Band GSM/GPRS GPS device.
Check all the ground and power connections engine, and console. If all looks good take it to the shop and have them check the EMM for interference. It is a rare occurance but I have had to fight it once. Evinrude redesigned the EMM's in 08 to produce less external interference.
I had the same equipment on my prior boat which included a different 2006 200hp HO on it and did in fact have the same degree of inference with that engine as well..
Seems to go with the territory perhaps.. Thought a change in the plugs would have provided a fix.
When my customer brought his in to me I tried everything I could think of, from inline noise filters to shielding on the cables and wires. I even removed the engine from the boat and ran it with no connection to the boat and still got RFI. Good luck.

Have you tried running the electronics with stand alone power, not using the motors power, this will see if its transmitted or coming from the charge ctr or is it induced into the ctr.

I will do that next. From what I have heard the rfi comes though the sonar tranducer as well.
I will rule out the battery but this may still put me in the same place.
