I am thinking about buying an E-tech, for my boat. What is the exact difference beween the High Output, and the Regular 225 h.p. Also, what would be the difference in horsepower. I have heard alot of good things about the E-tech. could you tell what are your likes and dis-likes about the motor....

At least one difference is about 10% horsepwer, ie Factory Tuned. Maybe even a different gearcase?

Javelin389 covered the bases. The 225HO has more horsepower, a Lightning 2 gearcase with a higher gear ratio(09 yr model), different graphics and stiffer motor mounts.
If you are putting it on a bassboat, do yourself a favor and get the HO, you won't be sorry.
These guys are right,225hp vs 248 on HO, Lightning gear case with either (08 or 09) 1.86:1 or lately 1.71:1, these motors are very stout, have dealer scan a used motor, make sure all updates where done, have lower unit checked over, run oil setting on used motor for xd50 or tcw3 setting, yet RUN ONLY XD100 FOR BEST OILING PERFORMANCE.....If used make sure fuel filter was changed/updated, these motors with all updates and correct oil kick ass, haul the mail, and are dead nuts RELIABLE........these guys are psychos in a good way to help you, post a serial and model # if looking used, and these helpful gentleman will go through it for you...
