Camped there for a week last month. Water was too high to get much fishing done. Caught 3 over 7 there last year. grassbeds and flats on the southeast end should be awesome right now

    Re: Dripping springs (hooks2bset)

Fished hard from wednesday to sunday. It was very windy everyday but saturday. Water temps stared at 58 degrees on wed, and was 66 by sunday. Fishing was extremely slooooow. I caught only 4 to 5 bass per day and 95% were 15 " or shorter. I did catch one around 5 lbs on Thursday. She was full of eggs and in very shallow water. I tried points, creek channel egdes, flats, etc....the only place I caught fish had to have rock and grass combinations and all fish came out about about 1 ft of water where the sun and rocks made the water temps a couple degrees warmer. I did catch several nice white bass {sandbass} along the dam riprap on rattle traps and wigglewarts. I also caught about 20 crappie in one small cove in about 4 ft of water, but they were all 8 to 9inches long.
To sum it up, fishing wasn't that great, but this warm weather and falling lake level [ the lake was a couple ft high } ought to have the bass moving in to spawn next week.

Fishing was great there today, Could do no wrong. Caught them on a crankbait, Rattletrap, and soft plastics. These are the best 2 of the day, they came from spots maybe 20yards apart.

Looks like the fish D/S give up back in the late 70's and early 80s
