**Seasonal Campground (Port Clinton / Marblehead area) Info Wanted** Read more:

Looking to either bring up my parents Travel Trailer or find a camper or mobile home (CHEAP) already on a lot this coming season.. I spend quite a few days a year up in the area Bass fishing the Harbors, Bay and Lake (when weather permits).. So instead of driving back and forth the 1hr 15min + everytime I want a place that I can crash when wanting too..

Plus to be able to have somewhere for my wife and boys (13 & 5) to hang out if they want to.. I have seen a few of the websites for the area that have camp grounds listed.. However figure it is best to get information first hand from those of you who stay or live in that area..

So any help in my search would be great.. If possible let me know a website and a seasonal fee they charge.. Seems to be a wide variety of pricing and what is included with each..

Re: **Seasonal Campground (Port Clinton / Marblehead area) ... (Hookerz Tackle)

It's been a few years ago, but I had an uncle that had a capmer in Cedarlane Campground on Catawba Island. It's across from Foxhaven Marina. It was a nice, clean campground that had an area for the kids to hangout, videos games, pool table, kids playground and it also had a nice pool. They also had a boat parking lot in the back and also had a fish cleaning station if you needed it. Might be worth checking out....good luck!

contact the Surf Motel on Marblehead, they have a campground and your stuff will be safe there. They can be kind of grumpy, but most people are in that part of the state. However they are good people that run it. I think the number is 419-798-4823, but im not sure havent called it in 7-8 years.

I contacted them today based on some other referrals from OGF website and before that I seen their website doing a google search.. The rates are the same from 2011 to 2012 and space is limited she said.. I emailed them back with a few more questions before I commit to it.. $1700 is a nice little chunk of change for a campsite.. However they do seem to have plenty for the kids and family along with being centrally located where I want to be..

Figure we can do it 1 year and if don't get our moneys worth than don't do it the following year is all.. Sure will make it nice to have somewhere right by the water I lie to fish to crash and hang out at.. Plus it is no longer a full day event to hit Erie.. If the wife and kids are there they can go along or just chill out and I can sleep in a little later than hit the water for a few and be back easy.. No more 1.5hr drive up in the AM fish half a day or so and get back home and be worn out..

John, only thing you'll have to worry about at the Surf is the speed trap as you go through town to Mazurik or W. Harbor ramps. For a podunk town, they live off of the bass boaters who go 26 mph through town and for a place that's a speck on the map, they have all kinds of police cars, seems every officer has one plus the secretaries Not sure what the Pennisula's campground charges but ya may wanna check them out as well.
