    Question Lake Blackshear

Who on here fishes lake Blackshear? I'm looking at going there in a couple weeks and I've never been there before. I've looked for fishing reports online and haven't found anything current.
So do you have any fishing reports you can share with me.
    Thanks for the help.

I'm going to bring this back to the top for the morning crew. Maybe someone hear fishes Lake Blackshear and can give a report.

Try Ken sturdivant southern fishing reports.com they usually update every Friday. I’ve only been there once and it was basically a narrow rive channel with big flats on either side and lots of cypress trees. There is some development on it also.

Check out GON.com they usually have a fishing report for most of the lakes around here. If the weather is stable the fish should be moving up in the grass and trees. We went down around that time last year and had some success throwing trap on points, along with a jig or creature bait skipped under docks. I have caught them off of cypress trees in the past, but it has always been hit or miss for me. Good luck!

Gotta be honest, have never liked Blackshear. If you're coming from PC, I'd stop at Seminole instead, or even better, Eufaula.
    Had much better luck there.

I fish Seminole most weekends. I just picked somewhere on the map and decided to go there. Next month I'll probably go somewhere else.

I have fished Seminole more than any other lake this year. it has treated us well so far. Going back down the first week of March!

Ken sturdivant southern fishing reports.com seems to often just cut and pastes reports from years back. I would not use that report for anything other than general info of what happens in years past, if that.

I grew up in Cordele and fished the river many times. Send me a pm.

It changed in 1994 with the flood, when the dam eroded. But it’s a shallow cypress swamp. Send me a pm and I’ll do my best to help.

Fishing the natural springs is a good winter pattern.

jmy is located down that way. I don't think he is very active now. Personally I'd look for another lake.

I decided every month to pick a lake I've never fished from the map. Do some research on it then at end of the month go fish it for a couple days and see how I do. This month I picked Blackshear. After I get back from there I'll pick somewhere else.

North end is stumps and stay in the channels. We had problems with map cards being accurate. Friend thought he was coming off plane in 8-9 fow but ended being maybe 3. Caught fish and had a good time
