    Hydrowave

Sherry let me spend some tax money on a new toy. So I bought a Hydrowave last week and ran it on Norman this past Sat. I can see there will be a bit of a learning curve, but I definitely got a school of spots fired up in the back of a creek, and I had 5 or more fish come right up to the boat and snatch at my bait....something that I need to be prepared for in the future. All in all I think it is well worth the moola.

    Re: Hydrowave (rb)

Sherry was a trooper, but froze her ass off...it was colder all day than they predicted. She got pretty fired up towards the end when we really just needed one more good bite to get us in the top 10. She caught a couple of short fish and was awesome on the net...all in all we had a great time and will definitely fish another husband-wife tourney. It will just be in warmer weather.

I thought it was better than great...Maybe my favorite day on the lake ever...all the things I love together. You guys need to get your wives out and fish something like this.

    Re: Hydrowave (lostinlocust)

The first place we stopped had very little activity (if sherry hadn't been froze I would have moved on) I ran it on passive shad/30 sec loop low volume. After doing some research I should probably had it on something a bit more aggressive to get the shad fired up and hopefully the bass. For the most part I think i ran it a bit too passive and quiet most of the day. Around 1pm I went to a cut where I've found staging fish in years past. After fishing a few docks I finally caught a keeper spot on a swim bait who hit pretty hard...made a few more casts with only one other little bump I decided to crank up the volume a bit and set it to frenzy shad. Sherry caught a fish on the very next cast, then I caught fish on 5 next six casts. Sherry hung a nice fish that got off then I caught a 3.6lb spot. Sherry cast her swim bait into a pontoon boat so I had to go up and get it out scattering the school. We still caught 1-2 more but it was over and our time about up. Had I had more time I would have run a few more cuts to see if I could repeat it.

Sounds silly to have two....its a speaker in the water what would one front and back do? Sound travels underwater very well....I would be suspect of advice from him.

    Yes, its on the tm
