    New to the game

If I were to take 1000$ a number I can easily loose, and get on an app, the options are what? Robinhood?

and would I be best off looking through stocks <1$ , 1-6$ 6.01-14 , 14.01-35 looking to buy about 1000$ worth and let is sit for a couple days to weeks, then selling.

basically the GameStop deal makes me want to gamble in this rather than the lottery

I would do robinhood. Avoid margin. And since you're going to treat it like gambling, good luck and have fun.

Yeah, and if you're just going in it for lotto plays, you don't need any of the extra technicals or any of that. Robinhood is the simplest by far that I've seen.

% gain is percent gain.... don’t limit yourself to penny stocks, but I’m not sure I’d reach for big boards either. Sub $3 stocks have probably the best bang for your buck. Good luck!

I started with the app called PUBLIC. It allows you to buy pieces of stocks if you want. For instance...I bought a 1/3 of a share of Tesla a few months ago. I didn't have a whole share worth of money to gamble with but wanted in on the action. Everyone knows what that stock has done in the last few months so it was a good move. I also have a TD Ameritrade account because sometimes I want to buy a stock at a certain price. You can not name your price with the PUBLIC app. You put a buy order in and you get it for what they want to sell it to you for. It hasn't been off by much anytime I have made a buy. If you want to buy a few different stocks and some are the big guys like Tesla Google Adobe etc....I would start with an app like PUBLIC. If you are going to buy one particular stock and hold on to it I would use an account you can control the pricing as far as buying and selling. Just my 2 cents.

News came out about Robinhood blocking users from buying certain stocks, mainly GME and AMC. They are now blocking users from buying AAL, a highly shorted stock and other stocks as well. There is a major revolt happening with Robinhood users. They are liquidating and deleting the app. Just a heads up.

Yeah I'm going to pump the brakes and study what is happening now and what may change, maybe I'll inquire in another month. Is kinda comical to me at this point.

but if anyone has any good hunches in the meantime we don't need redit but you could whisper it in my ear here haha

Here’s the deal, whether it’s this bull shit or a virus, or a vaccine lol, there’s always something. Study all you want, but nothing like dipping the toes in the water over staring from the beach. Good luck again

with a small amount, i like the otc penny stock market, and robinhood doesnt have most of those stocks, td or etrade and id lean towards td, they have better customer service

I have td, etrade, fidelity and webull. Webull for early morning Nasdaq scalps. Fidelity for the long stocks ira and 401k. Td and etrqde get the penny plays. Sometimes one won’t allow buying and the other will. E*TRADE seems to be the best all around, but I prefer trading on my think or swim platform with td Ameritrade. Both mobile app and comp program.

I agree with the posts above. I also would not recommend robinhood based on recent news. TD and ETrade are the other platforms that I have, along with robinhood, but I do the majority of my trading with TD. ETrade is just for the OTCs that TD doesn't allow. I also really like the think or swim platform and TD's customer service

You arrived to the party just as the police are showing up. Actually though you may get a good opportunity in the next few weeks with all the volatility.
