Rusty, (or anyone else)
I intalled a new impeller a couple of months ago and everything seemed to be working fine untill last weekend. The water pressure was 8-10 at idle and 30+ at WOT. Then I noticed that the stream from the pee hole was diminishing over time and also noticed water coming out from under the motor cowling pan. I removed the cowling pan yesterday and saw that the gasket between the power head and the shaft housing was leaking a strong steady stream of water at idle. I still have good pressure on the gauge. How is the best way to fix this problem? Does the power head have to be lifted off our can I drop the shaft? Is this a problem that is best left to a pro? Could the increased water pressure from the new impeller have caused this lead. Any help would be appreciated.
