95 evinrude intruder 150 loads up and dies

I have a 95 intruder 150 that loads up and dies when I give it throttle to get on plane. It would not push my boat up on the front roller of the trailer without dying. The rpms would start to come up then it just loaded up and died. I used to run between 5000-5200 rpms now 4700 is all it will do. I have had it in 2 different shops on 4 occasions and still fighting this. I had a new powerpack, new vro pump, carbs rebuilt and new plugs installed. Is there an adjustment on the carbs that they may not have set right or something in the fuel system that might be letting my system bleed down? I also had a new bulb put on. Thanks for any help. I have spent a small fortune on it, and getting tired of the wait and runaround at the boat shops.

I would suggest first performing a compression test. Then, if all checks, try sync-&-link procedure. I had similar problems which this procedure solved. Did you use a OEM fuel primer bulb when you replaced this?

Someone should be along to add to the trouble shooting, but I would at least get started on the compression test if you haven't done so.

the compression is 120-125 on all cylinders, yes it is an oem bulb.

I would make sure it is getting full throttle. From there I would start looking at cleaning carbs. Maybe a good decarb is in order.

One other thing. The upper motor mount can cause a loss of top end rpms. You need to be turning it more then 4700 rpms.

I had the carbs rebuilt 2 weeks ago. What do I need to check on upper mount?
