Thinking about cutting on my boat

I have decided am going to stay in my boat for a while and there are a few things I want to do to it. One is a recessed trolling motor pedal. I will post this on the Triton board too, but has anyone installed one on a TR20? It looks like my front storage compartment might extend up enough where it will be in the way. Oh for those who do not know about my carpentry skills… me cutting on a boat is a very scary thing.

Rodney, the first one I helped install was on a '99 TR-21. The decking was made of the same stuff as my Strat! I've helped (supervised, LOL) on four different boats...it's a no brainer once you get the measurements and do the drawing on the carpet. I'd be glad to help...but you'll need a couple of first!

I thought Jerry was crazy for cutting a hole in his boat. His was the first recess I had ever seen. His looks awesome.

Give JR a call at Pit Stop Marine, He is a board sponsor and has a link on the front page of the BBC. Very reasonable for installing these.

    From Yahoo
    O'Doul's is a premium non-alcoholic beer.

Non-alcoholic. I'll never get up the nerve to drill that first hole without some alcohol!

Re: Thinking about cutting on my boat (TBirck)

That's all I ever need, one or two, then I'm good-to-go. I won't care who's boat I'm cutting into, or if the hole is straight or crooked!

    Whoo-Hoo, where's the saw-zaw?

Hey Rodney, if the saw blade comes thru that slanty piece just above the trailer, tell ol Buzz to let up a bit on the saw pressure, OK??

The keel guard material will likely cover anything but the largest of holes...

Rodney, check out Jerry's eyewear to ensure he can see the lines before he puts the sawsall to the deck

Re: Thinking about cutting on my boat (BuzzB8)

Go ahead and do it now. I am secretly selling tickets so I can buy one of those custom rods you guys use. Just tell me when and where, and I will bring the audience. Do y'all think $8/ticket is too much?? I know y'all are supplying the beer, so I can keep the costs down for the viewers....
