Last month I was finally able to snag this Def Con Stubby crankdown swimbait from a local bait builder out of Massachusetts. I've been dying to get my hands on one of these baits, as it does exactly what I've been looking for: BIG profile, and even when swimming it fast, it only goes down to a max of about 3 feet. The way I've been fishing it, it really only goes down 1-2 feet, which is perfect for many of the weedy kettle ponds that I fish in my area that are loaded with yellow perch.

First day I got to use it was also the first day of the year that I got to fish with my Dad and my Uncle, so I put the GoPro's away once they showed up. Which is kind of a shame, because we put over 50 bass in the boat between the 3 of us this day, and this one bait alone put 12 in the boat, with 7 of those going over 3 lbs, and the biggest going just shy of 4 lbs. But, I was able to get the first two bites on film before I shut everything off!
